Relic Weapons - A Trip Down the Memory Lane (Part 2)

We lived the lives of the Zodiac Braves, we thought we are contented. But isn’t an animatic life better?

Hence, we start the Anima Weapon quests in the midst of the Dragonsong War.

It all started with an innocent conversation with a young researcher in the God forsaken land of Azys La (does it sounds like “Assist Lah!” to you?) at the initial advice from Rowena in Idyllshire. Before you know you are met with the dilemma for ‘Should I give up all my blood and sweat from the Zodiac Braves questline’ or ‘Should I go back to FATE farming?’. As I loved the stats of my Zeta weapon so much, even though they are now basically useless, I wanted to keep looking at them. So, I decided to go down the dark path.

Finally, after hours and hours of flying around (lucky we can fly!) all the scenic areas in Heavensward hoping for that rare occasional drop, I got all the luminous crystal for that tea sipping lady on the balcony at the House of Splendours. For someone who does nothing and sit there all day long, it was a total bargain for her. I wonder what use of those crystals to her if she is not adventuring….

Went back to young Ardashir, he started to put his theory into practice. For me, that is a huge gamble if I don’t know that it would be successful anyway. If in it is in real life, would I risk doing that?

Got may Animated weapon in an animated way. Yay! But, hey there is more!

As knowledge craving as Ardashir, he wanted to test his theories further, at your own time and expense. He asked you to toughen up, I mean toughen up your weapon. Basically, running a lot of dungeons at your own time and effort while he reaps the profit of knowledge. 10 in total – from the tranquilising music of the Snowcloak to purging the sickness at The Vault. It’s nice enough for Ardashir to show up from time to time to cheer you on, but it would be help if he has any skills to help speed up the dungeon runs.

After toughening up the Anima, you have beaten your weapon against enemies enough times to wake up the Anima, hence, the Awoken weapon!

But knowledge has no limits. Ardashir wants to go further, so do I…really?

Of course, to achieve this you need more unique materials that would cost you both arms and legs, well basically Poetic tomes and Grand Company seals. You need so many that it was guaranteed that your total and weekly caps will not help you to achieve it in a short period of time. Oh, make sure you rank up yourself in your Grand Company as much as possible first, or you will never enough seals to exchange even one of them. Again, for the chick under the staircase of the House of Splendours, it is nothing but a bargain. 56 items in 6 categories for 4 items? Why would I even agree on such deals?

Got my stuff, back to Ardashir, you finally got your first iteration of the Anima weapon.

But the Anima is a bit rusty. So let us oil it up a bit to enhance its performance. Of course, being so precious, it cannot be oiled up unless it is of high-quality Aether Oil. Ok 5 is not a lot so managed to fork out some poetics and got them ready. It is now Hyperconductive! Yay!

However, the Anima is a demanding thing, its craving for development led you down the steep slope – so many crystal sands and so many umbrites. And the RNG God is at play again. You don’t know how many you would need until the RNG God wields its magic. So just keep farming scrips with my crafters and gatherers to meet the seemingly unending appetite of the RNG God. Thought of farming those Veskin with the ‘Dance, Magic Dance’ levequests but after 10 unsuccessful attempts, that plan went into the wind.

Ok what to with the stats…hm Critical Hits always important…Astrologian well known for low healing power, will just toss every bit I can into Determination. Oh my! Lucky me! Still have a few left…that goes into Spell Speed…faster spells mean more healing and Combust right?

Turns out the Anima can’t handle it. So needed another new weapon from Gerolt. Here comes a Reconditioned Weapon with an over-the-top name.

But then, being a spoiled brat as it is, the Anima wants more. Need to talk to that greedy businessman in Idyllshire pretending the deal he made is good. There is nothing singing about trying to get ’50 Singing Clusters’. Back to poetics farming and occasional quests from those two seemingly innocent looking girls.

Obtaining Singing Clusters are not as singing as it sounds. Although it can sharpen your conscious and your weapon. But sometimes I do feel what are they going to do with all those clusters? There is nothing poetic about grinding for clusters, but at least the oversupply of poetics nowadays can be used for that purpose.

As the poetics grind came to a close, more dungeons ahead. Ok this time it is not too bad. At least can undersize them and get them done quickly. Let’s get the programme going! Three undersized dungeon seems like easy job. I am sure Ardashir will be happy. But obviously being naïve about this will get you nowhere. Here comes the legendary light grinding for relic weapons!

Ok how to get it done quickest? Tried Alexander Savage, but with a budget weapon, even full 80 body gear won’t help to speed things up with only my friend and I. So, it is not worth it. The best way to do it? Hm maybe Brayflox Longstop Hard then! Least number of gates and probably can get it done in 4 minutes with a decent amount of light for each run. This is the start of an over a week long daily 5 to 6 runs of the same dungeon, to a point that the music never left your head. Once got all the light done with that satisfying completion notification the other item is just nothing, really nothing. Pneumite, what a weird name for an important item for my weapon.

The Anima is reborn again with the new soul stone, but of course we want to push it to the maximum limit. So, it is time for a primal revisit. With unsync’d, blasting through all the A Realm Reborn primals are pieces of cake, until we reached the final two in Heavensward, which took a little bit longer, but no dramas. As a final task, bought that Archaic Enchanted Ink for 500 poetics. A really small price to pay to get my Lux Bubble Gum weapon for my Astrologian!

A long and rewarding grind for a glamour weapon that I long wanted I suppose.
