We are now two weeks into the Election Campaign leading up to the 21 May 2022 Election.
For me, every election in Australia is like a game of ‘The Price is Right’ with politicians from all sides trying to get the best estimates of the grand prize. Different Parties will have a different approach, and I am sure different Parties hold different parties too, COVID or not.
Without a doubt, Albo, Anthony Albanese stumbled out of the gate on the first day with the lack of knowledge of a figure, which his party, of all of them, should know. Fox News, being the most cunning animal in the News kingdom of them all, rolled out their commentators on the issue day after day, so that they can continue to pretend that they are a news corporation, as commentators are not journalist, they are just people with opinions, whom they claim to represent the silence majority, whom we cannot verify their existence, or the truth of any of their statements, because they are silent despite being the majority.
Then the Australian Financial Review, aka Australian Fanatic Right tried to pull another stunt on Adam Bandt, in case you don’t know, he is the Greens leader, just to be lectured on how to be a proper political and financial journalist, which is ‘Google it mate!’ The lecture turned out that it was not about technological know how to perform in Google, but what a political leader and an election campaign should be, and how political and financial journalists should respect their jobs. Mr Triangular-face from AFR tried to protest but was drowned by the applause of those around him.
This fortnight we haven’t seen Scomo, aka #ScottyOfAllBadNames rolled out his wife Jenny for the campaign. That’s probably because they found out Albo is a man, so they don’t need a woman to take down another woman to show that the Liberals are not sexist after all.
However, Scomo and his friends have lots of wisdom to share in the last fortnight too, there are so many of them that I need to put them in point form to avoid a 20-pages thesis:
· He can’t get nurses falling down from the sky for the aged care sector
· People who can’t afford renting should not use the money for rent but save it up for buying
· Robodebt created by Scomo and drove welfare recipient crazy is a Labor failure because they created the mean test a long time ago
· Transphobic is a woman’s right among the women in the Right. And because of this, her voice cannot be silenced. As this woman should not be bullied by people who want to stop her from bullying others
· There is nothing he can do about the rising cost of living, they are just good economic managers
· Anyone stands against Liberal as an independent is either a Crazy Left or a Fake Independent
· It is not ok to be a racist and preference One Nation, unless Labor is having a winning chance in that electorate
· A hung Liberal man is ok but a hung parliament is not
In fact, so much wisdom flooding our minds after two once in a hundred years floods in the last month and a bit is really drowning us.
We are lucky that we only need to endure 6 weeks of this.
But what we need to endure after this is up to your responsible vote, do you want a known failure or a new bet?
The country’s fate is in your hand.
