If it tells us anything, the Omicron wave in the last few months taught us a few things:
Scott Morrison is really over with being the Prime Minister, while wanting to stay in power with the perks of being a Prime Minister
Dominic Perrotet ideological warfare on science because of who he is had turned the lives of approximate 1000 NSW families into hell, while he still stays in his bubbled heaven
Barnaby Joyce is nothing but a hypocritical bully who thinks he is the anchor of moral standards, when he has no standards of such kind at the same time
How did we come to this?
I have friends who are firm and long term Liberal voters throughout their voting lives, and even now they have second thoughts, and are frustrated with the Liberal politicians during the last year or so.
Would they continue to vote for Liberals? Probably yes. Why? Probably being creatures of habit, or probably they were being sold again under the new pre-election campaign Scott Morrison, aka Scotty From Marketing, unleashed before even announcing an election.
Scott Morrison is not about honesty and morality, I think at this point most people who had witnessed what he turned Australia into in the last few years are quite clear:
His failure to manage the pandemic while attacking only the Labor States for their management, while taking credit for their success internationally had demonstrated how lack of moral standards he is, despite his repeated marketing of his devotion to his faith
His failure to manage the vaccine roll out while firstly trying to market the roll out as Australian at the head of the line, while at the same time trying to save money for not taking additional offers of vaccine from Pfizer to ‘stay put and see’ whether there can be a local researched version, demonstrates how far he would go to market ‘Liberals are better money managers’ when common Australians fell sick
His continued shifting of responsibility from his duty of care for the Aged Care sector throughout the whole pandemic, when the sector repeatedly cried for help, because they are dealing with the most vulnerable people of the society, demonstrated how he has a lack of care and empathy for the ones who needed care and empathy. And the fact that he allowed his Aged Care MInister get away from the Senate hearing to go to a cricket match for free food and booze demonstrated how much he cares
His constant mobilisation of the army as his personal servants throughout his time as a Prime Minister to fix his failures, from the bushfire relief, the vaccine rollout, and now the aged care sector, demonstrated how much of a dictator complex he had, especially when he wanted the army to roll out the red carpet to welcome him
His priority to push the Religious Freedom Bill over the management of the pandemic crisis, while stood by his Hillsong leader friend Brian Houston, while he was being investigated for paedophilia related charges, demonstrates his hypocrisy about moral standards and how much cares about the vulnerable people in the society, when you want to give the rights for other people to attack the vulnerable under the disguise of a religious discourse - when Australia is in fact a secular country
Him throwing the all of Australia under the bus when the French President Emmanuel Macron exposed him as a liar on the submarine deal and AUKUS demonstrated how much he prioritises his own name over Australia’s name and his fellow Australians whom he was supposed to protect and work for
These are just a few of the things about him, and when we look further into the list there are so much more, from victim blaming and backgrounding in the Brittany Higgins case, the Sports Rot and the car park rot, and his continue marketing of his image as a women protector while he continued to intimidate and bully female MPs who don’t agree with him, both privately and publicly.
However, for Scott Morrison, everything is about image building and marketing. And the strongest combo, throughout the last few years were:
A family man - continued posting pictures of him as a caring father and family man, even after the disastrous lies about he was not in Hawaii until being exposed by pictures, the first thing he said was about being a father and promised his kids to give them a holiday, while half of the country was burning, people losing their homes and some families losing their loved ones fighting the fire
A great fiscal manager.of the country - continued to talk about budget management and recovery, while continuing to attack the RBA when the government did nothing much about the economy throughout the last few years, and gave out money to big businesses like Harvey Norman, the church, and the private schools that raked in millions of profit on top of the hand out, all during which small to medium businesses, well, went out of business, and dodge his responsibility for the heavily litigated illegal Robodebt scheme continued to traumatize people who were in need of the money, when he was the mastermind of it
An honest speak his mind person - when he continued to lie about every lie that was exposed, while lying about him ever had lied about anything, when more lies were exposed and more ex-colleagues came out to expose him as a liar
An underdog - Telling voters he is the underdog to win sympathy votes while continue to expand other people’s achievements as his own achievements and buried his own failures through his loud credit taking megaphone
Would Australians still fall for it? Maybe.
Should we be more diligent with our votes? 100% Absolutely!
One thing we need to remember is, to run a country is more than ideology. Visions that cannot be measured and have no plans to implement are just nothing but talking points based on ideologies. Ideological warfare is what tears societies apart, as we can see in some other countries, and exactly what our Liberal politicians are doing. They labelled anyone who doesn't agree with them as Lefties, Communists, Trolls etc. while they can continue to keep on taking from our society for their own good under the protection of this noise, and trying to pass legislation to protect themselves from being exposed.
What kind of country do we want Australia to be? A pseudo dictatorship under the disguise of the Liberal National Coalition? Or maybe we can go for something else? I am not propagating for Labor specifically, but we should look closely that there are lots of capable people who know their stuff and want to contribute to our great country.
So, research and read carefully, this election. For the greatness of Australia is in our own hands. Ultimately, if we chose badly and destroyed our great country, there is nobody but us to blame.
For Scott Morrison, he will continue to blame everyone else.
